Huh?

You know those pacts that people make, the ones that are like, "If we're both single when were ??-years old, we'll get together" or whatever?

Aren't those awkward?

Are they serious committments?

And what would the other party be called? Conditional Future Wife?

Ha...so funny...

Hmm, I think legally what you have there is a contract subject to a condition precedent. Or a contingent remainder. Or...two people terrified of being alone. Maybe at 25 I'm too young to understand that mentality, I guess I just don't believe that if there's someone out there for me, I won't find them, and at some arbitrary age I'll just have to settle for friendship with benefits type of marriage. If I were 35 I might feel different, who knows? It just seems pathetic for anyone younger than at least 40 to give up on the idea of finding their match.

Then again, I don't believe there is just 1 person for everyone either, there are lots of people out there I'd be good with, hopefully one that's the best. But I think some people want to believe in "the one" so badly they stick that label on anyone it'll stick to.
